Chironomids or midges are undoubtedly the most prolific and prolonged insect emergence found in productive stillwaters. Trout, char & other game fish take advantage of this abundant easily captured food source. Emergences can last from a few months during the spring and early summer period to season long hatches. Understanding and mastering this important food source not only increases the numbers of fish you catch but provides the satisfaction of understanding why you are being so successful. Join Phil Rowley and Brian Chan through their Conquering Chironomids seminar weekend to help take your mastery of chironomids to the next level. Phil and Brian’s Conquering Chironomids seminar is packed with information that will significantly shorten the learning curve of conquering chironomid fishing. You will learn not only what techniques and tactics are at your disposal but perhaps most importantly when to use them.  YOUR STAY at STONEY LAKE LODGE: The lodge has 8 tastefully appointed rooms, bringing the total capacity to a perfect 16. Ambiance is important, so the over-all space at Stoney Lake Lodge is usually the first compliment from our new guests. All rooms have two queen beds, and of course, a private bathroom. A single occupant room is set-up for wheelchair accessibility, as well as the entire lodge. Included in our fly fishing and lodging adventures are three meals daily. We take our food serious here. A delicious breakfast buffet, boxed lunches and a hearty dinner are all included. Guests of the lodge can choose how they prefer their lunch plans, to maximize angling opportunities. Dietary concerns/allergies are always addressed immediately. Dinner is provided on the day of arrival as breakfast/lunch are served on departure day. BOATS and EQUIPMENT: Every room at Stoney Lake Lodge includes unlimited use of a custom flat bottom fly fishing skiff for two people. All of our boats are flat floor decked, carpeted, bow and stern anchored with oars, electric motors and batteries. The boats are treated with a rubber based interior and exterior to eliminate unnecessary noise. Guests are more than welcome to bring in their own favorite fishing craft, excluding any form of gas powered motors. Fully guided fly fishing trips include extra wide 14' guide boats. THE STAFF at STONEY: Superior Customer service is our culture at Stoney Lake Lodge. All of our Lodge staff are experienced in the remote adventure business. Our Management, Chefs, Guides, Servers and Housekeepers are just as excited to have our guests enjoy the lodge and the fishery, as they are to answer and explain any questions that guests may have. We are proud to say that our crew are not only ambassadors to the fly fishery, but also ambassadors of the Douglas Lake Ranch itself. The price for the Conquering Chironomids 4 day / 3 evening course is $949.00 (plus tax) based on double occupancy. If you are inquiring as a single occupant, please be advised that you may be paired up with another single occupant. A deposit of $500 p/ person is required to hold your space well in advance. All deposits are 100% refundable up to 30 days prior to your arrival.
